Coby Sonenshine

Director, First Foundation Bank Mr. Sonenshine is the President and COO of Professionals' Retirement Strategy, a retirement planning and entity risk management firm. He has extensive experience in insurance, management, marketing, technology and the financial services industry. Prior to joining PRS, Mr. Sonenshine co-founded RSM EquiCo, an investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions of privately-held middle market companies. As President, he focused on the firm's strategy, operations and growth while it grew from a start-up to a business with over 400 employees and $75 million in annual revenue. RSM EquiCo was acquired by H&R Block in 2001, and Mr. Sonenshine served as a divisional President until 2005. Mr. Sonenshine began his career valuing public and private businesses at two multi-billion-dollar investment companies: Farmers Insurance and Kayne Anderson. Responsible for managing more than $250 million, he developed expertise in many consumer service sectors, including gaming, lodging, media and restaurants. Mr. Sonenshine holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst, is a member of the California State Bar, the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). Mr. Sonenshine graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business and a B.A. in International Relations from the College of Arts and Sciences. At the University of Southern California, he earned a J.D. from The Law Center and an M.B.A. from the Marshall School of Business. « Back to Our Team |
