Summary:
Under the overall direction of the Director of Operations, supervises branch operations with responsibility for risk management and controllable losses, staffing efficiencies, client service, deposit retention and growth, service charge income, expense management, referrals, compliance, and audits. Mentors and develops employees. Actively involved in client relationship management including maintaining positive client relationships and client retention. The primary purpose of this position is to train and develop a highly motivated, energetic, and proficient sales team to achieve branch/Bank’s goals, while providing superior client service.
Duties:
- - Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position.
- - Manages day to day operations of the retail branch including risk management, controllable losses, staffing efficiencies,
service charge income, expense management (including losses and overtime), audits, and compliance.
- - Maintains positive client relationships and actively involved in client retention.
- - Responsible for the client service levels of the branch (acting as the Client Service Advocate for the branch).
- - Responsible for and manages client problem resolution.
- - Conducts periodic certifications to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policy.
- - Leads the CRS referral and/or sales activities and efforts for the branch.
- - Generates referrals and/or sales of all Bank products and services to clients and prospects as appropriate.
- - Ensure that all branch personnel are trained and have a thorough understanding of all products and services that First
Foundation Bank offers to its clients.
- - Ensure that all transactions are in compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures while assuming responsibility
for accuracy, consistency, and completion of all transactions.
- - Responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of dormant accounts, coupons, bonds, returned items,
and other negotiable items of collection.
- - Responsible for preparation of correspondence to clients in regards to complex or unusual issues with client account(s).
Also reviews correspondence prepared by staff to ensure that it is grammatically and professionally written.
- - Maintains inventory of all negotiable items.
- - Ensures that office supply levels and supplies are ordered as needed.
- - Manages the facility including security issues, the scheduling of maintenance, working order of equipment, etc.
- - Actively participates within the assigned community.
- - Exercises signing/approval authority within bank guidelines.
- - Performs all operation activities in compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policy and
procedures.
- - Provides clients with the proper disclosures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- - Approve performance appraisals and ensure that individual employee goals are established and tracked.
- - Ensure that subordinate employees are effectively trained and motivated in order to attain established goals.
- - Maintain effective hiring practices in order to ensure that the most qualified employees are selected.
- - Conduct branch staff meetings and all other regulatory compliance training including safety and security, new
procedures, memorandums, and updates.
- - Approve scheduling of branch personnel to ensure effective client service while maintaining established transaction
rates set by management.
- - Attend meetings as directed to maintain a current knowledge of the Bank’s status and trends. Ensure the timeliness of
management reports.
- - Keeps well informed of banking and regulatory issues.
- - Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five or more years supervisory experience in banking, with proven management and sales skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational aptitude. Superior verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Present a professional image in dealing with clients, interdepartmental and external
representatives. Ability to maintain client confidentiality. Ten-key accuracy, product knowledge, telephone techniques, proficient in PC environment.
