Asset Allocation

Asset Allocation

We believe in diversifying your investments across multiple asset classes to help produce optimally consistent returns and to protect capital to the best degree possible. Our investment committee seeks opportunities across the entire capital structure to achieve investment diversification.

The diversification process is:

  • Driven by asset class valuations made by the committee.
  • Making all portfolio decisions by classifying "risk" as the loss of capital.
  • Viewing "volatility" as creating opportunities for investing.

Asset Classes

The following asset classes are used to diversify portfolios:

Equities

We manage a large cap equity portfolio, which seeks to outperform the S&P 500 on a risk-adjusted basis over a full market cycle. Our diversified, proprietary portfolio of 25 to 35 stocks reflects our ongoing, thorough analysis, and adheres to a disciplined, long-term investment approach.

Fixed Income

First Foundation Advisors directly manages fixed income holdings with the objectives of minimizing fees and maximizing safety through high-quality investments. We supplement our fixed income diversification by investing in what we believe are the top mutual funds for specialized areas, such as global, U.S. high yield securities and opportunistic fixed income investments.
